Akhal Teke horse sculptures - finished

The completed versions of these wip sculptures

Lightweight clay painted in Golden acrylics and Acryla Gouache. They were under-painted with vivid jewel tones to evoke the rich cultural history of Turkmenistan from whence the Akhal teke breed originates. Some of the turquoise and carmine are intentionally left visible through the other layers of paint They were under-painted in rich turquoise and carmine to  is partially visible through the layers of paint.

I also used an iridescent pigment powder to create a gold shimmer that the Akhal Teke breed is so famous for.

They are about 6in tall.

I'm especially proud of how the cremello one turned out.
